Are these tiles easy to cut and install?
Yes. Colamo tiles are designed for easy DIY installation. For detailed cutting and installation steps, please refer to the Colamo Tile Installation Guide.
Does this go over existing tile?
Yes! 🙋♀️Our tiles feature a rigid core and are thick enough to naturally bridge over deep grout lines.
However, try to ensure the surface is as flat as possible. If your existing tiles have texture, we recommend lightly sanding the surface.
For extra security on uneven surfaces, you can add some adhesive, like a spray adhesive to ensure proper bonding.
Before installation, use an all-purpose cleaner to remove any grease or residue. Always make sure the surface is dry and dust-free to ensure the best adhesion.
Can I install peel and stick tiles on textured walls (like orange peel)?
For best results, a smooth and flat surface is always recommended.
However, our peel and stick tiles can still be installed on lightly textured walls, such as orange peel. We’ve had many customers successfully apply them directly without sanding.
What to expect:
- Minor Gaps: On textured surfaces, you may notice that some tiles don’t sit perfectly flush—this is normal. A simple fix is to apply silicone caulk (just like grout) between the tiles. This helps fill small gaps and creates a cleaner, more finished look.
- Extra Security: If you are concerned about the wall texture affecting the bond, applying a bit of spray adhesive (such as 3M Super 77) to the wall before installation can provide extra peace of mind and ensure the tiles stay firmly in place.

Admittedly, I did not read the description throuroughly before ordering. I thought I was ordering peel and stick floor tiles and was a bit surprised at their small size when they arrived. That being said, these are very nice and well made. Sturdy, with a real woodgrain look. I used them in the bottom of a cabinet and am happy with the turnout. After sticking the tiles down, Im pretty sure they arent coming out without taking the cabinet with them.
I needed a backsplash above my stove, since we removed the old undercabinet microwave and there was a blank wall. These looked promising and I loved the look, especially the wood grain texture.
I prepped the area with a board, to have a smooth backing (and raise it up to be more flush with the existing tile below), then painted it with Kilz specifically for mold and moisture. This made for a really good surface to adhere the planks to. I used a level to apply my first row and was able to build up from there. I used a straight edge and box cutter to score the front and back three times each and they broke apart easily. I wasn't able to re-position these once I placed them, they were definitely stuck in place, so be sure you have it where you want it before pressing down. After looking at different placements, these look better in a staggered/random placement as opposed to subway-tile-style or matched. Just my two cents, but if you're debating it, try random for a more realistic wood look unless you want them to look like tiles. You will also have less waste.
Not sure why anyone would think these are actually made out of wood, the description says wood-like (maybe that was added later) but in any event, these are similar to engineered wood flooring.
Overall, I'm really happy with it and can't wait to add the new hood vent and custom shelf below!
I was surprised at how realistic these are. They actually have a raised grain feel to them. I started by cutting some in half with my miter saw so that they have a staggered look when applied. Make sure you position them correctly before pressing them. I only got one box of them so was limited on much they would cover. Very nice product.
Went back in the shop 3 days later and half the tiles fell off. They are recommended to be put on finished or painted smooth surface and this OSB plywood is kind of rough and porous, so I think that was the problem. So, I took all these off again and put them up with some hot melt glue on them and pressed them back on and they are fine. That was my fault.
I absolutely love this product! I am using it in my bathroom remodel and it looks gorgeous! I love that it is thick and so natural looking. They are a bit pricy for only 24 pieces and I almost didn't get them due to the price and how many I would need but I am so glad I did!
These peel and stick tiles are beautiful, and really look like wood. However, they also seem like they will be easy to clean. They would make a stunning backsplash, or if you had enough, accent wall.I would love to have been able to see all the colors in person. This grey variety has a weathered natural wood appeal. The adhesive seems quite sturdy. I would highly suggest these.
WOW! These create such a beautiful accent strip! Absolutely versatile for different projects. If you purchase more boxes, you can cover ANYTHING in an array of methods and styles. A little patience and technique will reward you with such a gorgeous result. I ABSOLUTELY approve of these. All of the finishes are beautiful in my book.
These peel and stick tiles look nice and have a real wood look. I wanted to use these behind my headboard to spruce up my room. Easy enough to install.
The product was smaller than I expected; however, for what I want to use the tiles for will be perfect. They are thick, durable, and look of great quality. I do not have them up yet since they are going to be used in my upstairs bathroom which is all under construction. These would also look great as a backsplash for your kitchen, bath, and/or accent wall. The color of the product is gorgeous and can fit is with many different neutral color themes. I plan to use these tiles as an accent behind my bathroom mirror once the upstairs is complete. Overall, I would buy again and I more than likely will to make an entire section for my pedestal sink and mirror. Once I get my bathroom finished (it’s a DYI project) I will post pictures.
